Lin
Lin Li is an artist who was born in China and raised in Canada, her experience of moving between cultures inspired her focus and experiments in art.
Lin Li’s work investigates the uncertainty and boundary of non-verbal language through exploring a variety of senses, while questioning the existence of us with its relation to the surroundings and time.
She uses and continues to incorporate different forms of communication, such as visuals, sounds, touches, actions, atmosphere, and intuition. Her work captures the original and complete experience of communication; makes usage of the absence of information, and emphasizes the uncertainty of communication.
Her work tends to evoke primitive feelings and emotions within viewers, allowing viewers to make personal connections and interpretations of the work. However, her work mostly questions the place individual has in the world, in relation to other existences and time. Through expressing her understanding and intuition on the meaning of existence, she creates work to further the discussion and search for answers.
