child of you, prisoner of you, what are we without you?

This series of works embodied the inseparable yet contradictory entanglement between time and life using natural and mutable materials to visualize the force of time. Each piece is a specimen and a metaphor for human existence. Using exclusively natural materials humanized the series, which allows viewers to connect and empathize with it. Every material (including silk, bone fragment, shell powder, etc.) is used to symbolize either the before or after of life, therefore picture life not by what it is but by its residue.

As days go by, this series will decay. The purpose of this intentional decay is to reinforce the sense of life impermanence. While gazing into the fragility of human existence in the face of time, it is more obvious than ever to feel the strength of life and thus the whole picture.
